DISTRICT WIDE ELL PARENT-COMMUNITY SPANISH LIAISON
PreK-Grade 12
To facilitate and support acculturation and transition of culturally and linguistically diverse students and families into the school through intake, parent and community collaboration, and translation and interpretation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Bilingual: fluent in English and target language (i.e. Portuguese, Spanish).
2.Interpreter/translator courses taken (preferred)
3.Experience translating and/or interpreting
4.Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students and families in community partnerships.
5.Two years of college (preferred)
6.Computer skills
7.Strong organizational skills
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Intake: Evaluate newly arrived and referred students.
2.Parent and Community Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the parent, community agency, student, and the school for English language learners.
3.Translation: Working with school staff to translate school documents for parents in their native language.
4.Performs similar or related work as required or as the Director of Student Services dictates.
SALARY:
Per BTA contract
